Women of Note led the communal singing of suffrage songs at the blue plaque unveiling for Brighton suffragist and trade unionist Clementina Black in Ship Street on Sat 7 September 2019.
Thanks to the Brighton Women’s History Group for the invitation, and the opportunity to hear inspirational speeches by Dr Gerry Holloway, Dr Caroline Lucas, MP, Leader of the Council Councillor Nancy Platts and General Secretary of the TUC Frances O’Grady, who were joined by Deputy Lieutenant of East Sussex Juliet Smith JP for the unveiling.
